PRESQUE ISLE, ME

The University of Maine at Presque Isle volleyball program has announced the addition of Evelyn Perkins (Edgewood, Washington / Puyallup High School / Rainy River Community College) to the Owls roster.

Perkins joins the Owls after two successful seasons at Rainy River Community College, where she established herself as one of the team's top playmakers. A setter, Perkins served as the catalyst for the offense while demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills on the court.

During the 2025-26 season, Perkins averaged 3.9 assists per set and recorded 324 assists, leading her team in the category. She also contributed 36 service aces and 143 digs during the season. Over her two-year collegiate career at Rainy River, Perkins accumulated 506 career assists.

Perkins excelled both on the court and in the classroom, earning selection to the MCAC All-Academic Team during both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

"Evelyn has been a key player for both of her years with us at Rainy River," said Rainy River head coach Shelby Nosan. "Her versatility as a setter is one of her best strengths. She is able to not only make the key quick decisions as a setter but also effectively manage communication on the court. We will miss Evy and her all-out effort dearly, but we are so excited for her next journey and wish her the best of luck."

Perkins is eager to begin the next chapter of her academic and athletic career at UMPI.

"I am a transfer student coming in for my junior year and am ready to work hard and make an impact on the court!" said Perkins.

Perkins plans to major in Criminal Justice at UMPI.
