PRESQUE ISLE, ME
The much anticipated UMPI Invitational brought in five teams, making it the biggest college match in years held at Presque Isle Country Club. The Owls battled to post a team score of 345, not exactly the mark they hoped to achieve, but still good enough to place 5th.Â
Top Performers:
Last year's home match hero Garrett Chadwick was the low scorer for the Owls as he shot an 84. A rocky front-nine where he took three double bogies, he was able to salvage a 44 thanks to a big birdie on hole seven. On the back, Chadwick leveled off and made five pars, to be in with a 40 for his total score of 84.
Matt Pelletier turned in an 85, with a 42 on the front thanks to five pars. He was in with a 43 on the back as he carded four more pars. Luke Beidelman continued to improve, posting a career-low 86, thanks in large part to a 40 on the front which started with a birdie on hole one. Avery Thibodeau posted a 90 to round out the scoring for the Owls.
On the individual side, Ethan Anderson put together a great round for a team best 83, though his score would not be able to count to the team's total.
