Box Score PRESQUE ISLE, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Men's Soccer team (0-6-1) saw an early lead evaporate at home on Sunday in a 3-1 loss to the Fisher Falcons (3-2).
Senior Derek Healy (Hanover, MA) gave the Owls the lead in the early going, scoring in the 38th minute off of a Sean Barbosa (JR, Caribou, ME) assist. The lead was short-lived however as three minutes later Tom Pugliese (SR, Sagus, CA) set up Tyler Gahara (SR, Hooksett, NH) for his first goal of the afternoon. The two teams continued the physical battle, with neither team taking the advantage, they would go to the break tied at one.
The Falcons would finally break through in the 69th minute when Gahara would score his second goal of the afternoon. The Owls were never able to get back on the board, and Puliese would knock in an insurance goal in the 81st minute to seal the win for Fisher.
The Owls are on the road next weekend as they travel to Central Maine Community College on Saturday for a 3 PM matchup. They will finish their trip on Sunday in Boston when they take on Wheelock at 12 PM.
