Anaira Ayala wins the honor for the second straight week. In this weekend's slate of conference games vs. UMaine Farmington and Husson university, Ayala was a key part of two late game comebacks for the Owls that fell just short. Against UMF, Ayala finished with 11 points, making two three-pointers. The Owls trailed by 21 late in the third before storming back and making it a one-point game going into crunch time. Against Husson, the Owls trailed by more than 30. Ayala went off during an UMPI 21-0 run in the fourth quarter to try and make it a game. She had 11 points of that run including three three-pointers. Ayala finished the day with 26 points, shooting 10-22 from the field and 6-15 from three. Ayala continues to climb up the conference leaderboards in the scoring and three-point categories.
