Akhe McMichael showed out in as many ways as possible in the Owls' weekend sweep of Johnson and Lyndon as UMPI did their job and will now host a home playoff game, winning 11 of their last 13 games to finish 13-12 after starting 2-10.
On Friday night, McMichael had 13 points and 11 rebounds, leading UMPI on the boards (despite being a 6'0 point guard). He got in six assists, five steals, and didn't turn the ball over once.
On Saturday, he tied for the lead in scoring with 18 points while shooting 5-9, and once again led UMPI in rebounds with a career high mark of 14. He added seven assists and five more steals.
In total, McMichael had 31 points, 25 rebounds, 13 assists, 10 steals, and just three turnovers. McMichael facilitated and led UMPI to the weekend sweep and home playoff clinching wins as the Owls picked up the most important wins in the NAC this past weekend.
