Akhe McMichael picked up right where he left off from his first-team all-conference season last year as he led UMPI in scoring both nights of their opening weekend, averaging 26. In a comeback win over UMA, McMichael had 23 points, including a 4 for 7 clip from three-point range in 25 minutes of play. He went 9-11 from the free throw line, while adding three assists and two steals. On Saturday, in a game where the Owls comeback bid came up just short, McMichael shined even more, scoring 29 points in just 27 minutes on the floor. He went 2-3 from three-point range and 10-20 from the field overall. He also had six rebounds, four assists and six steals as he crammed the stat sheet full. McMichael shot well from the charity stripe again, going 7 for 9.
