PRESQUE ISLE, ME

The University of Maine at Presque Isle women's soccer program has announced the addition of Kaylie Pilloud (Deltona, Florida / Pine Ridge High School) to the Owls roster.

Pilloud joins the Owls following a successful career at Pine Ridge High School, where her versatility allowed her to contribute throughout the lineup. She played center attacking midfield, left back, and striker during her high school career, finishing with 23 goals and 22 assists.

Pilloud enjoyed a breakout junior season, recording 13 goals and nine assists. She followed that performance with three goals and three assists as a senior after posting five goals and seven assists during her sophomore campaign and two goals and three assists as a freshman.

Her performance earned her numerous honors throughout her four years at Pine Ridge. Pilloud was named the team's MVP as both a junior and senior, earned Defensive Player of the Year honors as a sophomore and senior, and was named Rookie of the Year following her freshman season. She also competed in the Volusia County Mayor's Cup in each of her four seasons.

Pine Ridge head coach Benjamin Noboa praised Pilloud's leadership and understanding of the game.

"Kaylie was a strong leader on the soccer field who consistently helped guide and motivate her teammates," said Noboa. "She demonstrated high soccer IQ, making smart decisions with the ball and understanding the game well. Her ability to read the field, create opportunities, and take accurate, powerful shots made her a valuable player and a key contributor to the team's success."

For Pilloud, the connection she felt with the Owls program played an important role in her decision to attend UMPI.

"The reason I chose to commit to UMPI is the feeling the team and coach had given me the first time I had ever spoken to them," said Pilloud. "I see myself thriving with this team and can't wait to call them family."

Pilloud plans to major in Criminal Justice at UMPI.
