Box Score NORTH ADAMS, MA– The UMPI Owls women's basketball team continues their season opening weekend with a game vs the MCLA Trailblazers, losing 66-58 after a fourth quarter comeback for the Trailblazers.

The Owls found themselves ahead early with a 21-13 lead after the first quarter as six Owls contributed to the scoring early. MCLA would then bounce back to give them a one point lead going into the half as they held the Owls to just 30% shooting in the second quarter. In the third quarter the Owls then bounced back with an impressive defensive showing, holding the Trailblazers to just 28% shooting from the field and holding them to just 12 points in the ten minutes. Although the fourth quarter was all MCLA as they forced nine turnovers and held the Owls to just five points to take the win.

Emily Wheaton led the way again for the Owls with 14 points off 6-18 shooting.  Alexis Ireland finished with a very efficient 11 points and 15 rebounds. Shooting 50% from the field and grabbing six offensive rebounds and five steals.

The Owls will head back home before returning to road games, hosted by U-Maine at Farmington. Facing off against Lasell University on Friday the 18^th at 5:00PM.
