UMPI Women's Basketball Head Coach Mark Knight is pleased to announce another new player to his growing roster for next year's team. Chloe Boyd, from West Buxton, Maine has committed to play basketball next year at UMPI.

Chloe just wrapped up her senior year playing basketball at Living Waters Christian School, a part of the Maine Christian School Sports League which is independent from the Maine Principal's Association (the association in which most Maine high schools compete). Chloe has been a star player and regular key contributor in all four of her years playing varsity. In her freshman and junior seasons, Living Waters were league runners-up, and in her sophomore season they were league champions, making it three out of four years reaching the final game. In her senior season, the Lions fell in the semi-finals.

Chloe racked up the stats throughout her career, totaling 813 points, and 388 rebounds, showcasing great experience on both ends of the floor. Her senior year, she averaged 18.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 3.4 assists as a guard, making her a true stat-stuffer. This past season, Boyd became the school's all-time leading scorer. She has some accolades to her name as well,  twice named a league all-star and was the team Most Valuable Player in 2026.

Chloe's high school coach, and also her mother, Laurie Boyd spoke to her contagious drive. "Her (Chloe's) teammates and opponents know she can be trusted. Her leadership on the court and at practice made everyone around her better," Boyd said.

Chloe has eight siblings, seven of whom are older than her, giving her a wealth of experience in competition and other athletic activities, with basketball becoming her true passion. She is looking forward to continue playing at the next level. "I'm grateful for the opportunities UMPI has to offer. Opportunities to continue learning and growing in the classroom and on the court," Chloe said.

Chloe intends to study in UMPI's Physical Therapist's Assistant program.
