(Salem,VA) -- In the opening game double header of the season the Owls of The University of Maine -Presque Isle scored 2 runs in the second driven in by an RBI single by Stephen Thorne (Jr/ Dalhousie, N.B). In the bottom of the inning the Maroons of Roanoke College scored 3 runs on 3 hits and base on balls to take the lead. 1 run followed in the 4^th and 2 more 5^{th on} a 2 RBI single by Ted Walker (So/ Caribou, ME). The scoring wasn't enough to deal with a 4 run Maroon 4^th and a 2 run 6^th to give the owls their first loss of the season 9-5.
