COBLESKILL, NY
The UMPI Women played their second game in as many days on Monday afternoon as they took on the 14-2 SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers. The Owls were met with a high-powered attack, and statistically the highest scoring offense in the North Atlantic Conference by far.
How it Happened:
Cobleskill wasted zero time in getting going as they began the game on a 13-2 run. UMPI got their first field goal 4 and a half minutes in, but more than held their own the rest of the quarter. Trailing 18-5, UMPI closed out the quarter on a 10-4 run to make it 22-15. In the second quarter, UMPI tried to hang around and kept the game within reach despite another Tigers run that made it 33-17 off the jump. The Owls fought hard the rest of the half trailing by 17. A monster third quarter by Cobleskill, put them over the edge, leading 74-47. It was more of the same in the fourth, as Cobleskill ultimately prevailed, 99-56.
