CAMBRIDGE, MA
The University of Maine at Presque Isle Women's Volleyball team entered Saturday hungry for a win. They had rattled off four in a weekend earlier in the month but had lost six straight games since. They would not go home disappointed, sweeping both matches.
Game 1 (UMPI 3-0): 25-7, 25-17, 25-10
The Owls were able to start off on a great note with a 12-point streak during
Myah Bragdon's serve to take a stranglehold of 15-4 in the first set. In the second set, they sung a similar tune with some longer runs, but Lesley made a comeback bid towards the end to be more competitive. In set three, the Owls put the nail in the coffin with two more
Myah Bragdon serve streaks and won the first match 3-0.
Top Performers:
Faith Graham got going again on the front line for the Owls, notching 7 kills, alongside

Game 2 (UMPI 3-0): 25-6, 25-8, 25-13
In the second end of the doubleheader, the Owls were much more dominant, outscoring Lesley 75-27 across the three sets. They started off the first set 11-1 thanks to
Mia Gutierrez racking up five aces in that span. In the second set, they leapt out to a 16-2 advantage, despite losing the first point. In the final set, the Owls continued their dominant play, getting an early need and never giving it up.
Once again it was a very balanced win for the Owls, who seem to have righted the ship from their six-game skid.
