The UMPI Men's Soccer team struggled to score coming off a euphoric late game tie this past weekend. UMPI would face University of Maine at Farmington for an afternoon NAC matchup and were unable to play spoiler to a well-oiled UMF team in their second to last game of the year.
The Beaves got the scoring going early with a pair of goals. The current North Atlantic Conference goals leader, Mohamed Adow found the net in the 10th and 13th minutes to go up 2-0. Adow would score one more time for the hat trick in the 61st minute before UMF tacked on one more in the 75th minute to win by the score of 4-0, and double down on their defeat of the Owls earlier in the season in Presque Isle.
For UMPI, it was Isaac Doore who posed the biggest threat of scoring, as he fired off seven shots to pace the offense. Remar Shirley had three shots and Billy Wray had two—both of which were on target. Despite their solid total of 13 shots attempted, UMPI was unable to convert on any, as four were on frame.
The Owls fall to 2-11-1 on the season and will have one more chance on the year to capture a win when they travel to Thomas College this Saturday for a 1pm start.
