Owls Women's Basketball Fall to Eagles in NAC Match Up

BANGOR, MAINE – The Owls women's basketball team took on the Eagles of Husson University in another North Atlantic Conference Match Up. The Owls fell to the Eagles 65-48 in the game in Bangor, Maine. The Owls now sit at 5-3 in the NAC as the Eagles advance to 5-3 in conference play.

It was the Eagles defense that started them off strong as they held the Owls to just seven points in the first quarter. As the Owls figured it our offensively, scoring 14 in the second half, the Eagles would go on to score 21. The teams headed into the locker room, Eagles leading 36-21. The Owls picked up their play in the second half playing nearly even with the Eagles through the final 20 minutes of play, although it was not enough as the Eagles came out on top.

Olivia Gray led the UMPI scorers along with Lauren Magno, each scoring 11 points. Gray's shooting came off 5-12 from the field while also grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists. Magno hit an efficient 4-5 from the field, including 3-4 from the three. Alexis Ireland finished the game with ten points on the night as stating forward Lindsay Hamilton finished the game with seven points and ten rebounds.
 
 
Next Up: The Owls will head to Fort Kent to face off in an Aroostook County match up on Friday.
