Owls Sweep Lynx in NAC Doubleheader

PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE – The University of Maine at Presque Isle women's volleyball team earns their first wins of the year in a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader sweep over the Lynx of Lesley University. The Owls won both matches in a 3-0 sweep on their home court as the Owls advance to 2-7 on the year.

Game 1
Owls (3-0): 25-15, 25-9, 25-19
 The teams started off the first set with some back and forth play before the Owls went on a 9-0 run late in the set to give them a 21-12 lead before finishing off the first set. With the first set out of the way, the Owls kept the runs going with an early one to give them a 9-3 lead. Shortly after, the Owls would get hot with Myah Bragdon serving, the Owls would go on a 10-0 run to give them a 23-8 lead. The Lynx would putt up a fight in the third set as the teams exchanged points and short runs. It would be the Owls that would end up with another win to complete the match victory.

Owls (3-0): 25-17, 25-6, 25-17
Early in the first set, the Owls found themselves down before quickly regrouping with a 5-0 run to take a 12-7 lead. Yet another run, 8-0 brought their lead to 22-12 later in the set to take the first win. Continuing their dominance, the Owls went on a 9-0 run in the second to spark another lead, eventually winning the set in a final 8-0 run. With the Owls up 24-13 late in the third set, the Lynx would put together a 4-0 run to give the Owls a scare. Although, the Owls would put the final set away to secure the sweep.
