Owls Battle vs Top Ranked Mariners

PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls women's volleyball team hosted top North Atlantic Conference opponent Maine Maritime Academy. The Owls put up a fight vs the NAC leaders, although the Mariners went on to win 3-0. The Owls fall to 06 on the year and 0-1 in the NAC.
 
Mariners (3-0): 15-25, 15-25, 14-25
The teams battled back and forth early in the first set before the Mariners went on a quick 6-0 run to give them an early lead. More back and forth throughout the set until another big run helped the Mariners put the set away.

To start the second set, it was all Mariners as they went on a 10-0 run to stat the set. Although, the Owls hard fought team bounced back later in the match, going on a 7-0 run themselves to bring the score 15-13. The game of runs would continue as MMA bounced back to give them the second set victory.

The third set was like the second as MMA started the game up 10-1. The Owls di not quit as they grinded back to bring themselves within two points to a 14-12 score. Another big run by the Mariners was able to get them a large enough lead to put the match away in the third set.
