Owls T&F Continue to Improve

WESTON, MASSACHUSETTS – The Owls Women's track & field team competed in the Regis University Pre-Championship Meet. The Owls finished fifth of the seven schools competing, recording 61.5 points.

Chantel Williams led the Owls in points with 25.5 total points earned in her events. Williams finished first in the long jump with a distance of 4.65m to earn ten points, also finishing second in the 100m, third in the high jump and along with Monica McLaughlin, Lexi Rodriguez and Katelyn Osborne they finished third in the 4x100. Osborne finished her meet, recording 17.5 points for the Owls. Her meet was highlighted by a second place finish in the 800m, breaking the school record with a time of 2:27.99. Also, finishing second in the 200m.

Coach comments:

Another strong team performance shows how we're coming together late in the season.  With half of our women scoring, we're diversifying our strengths over many disciplines.  Chantel Williams had her typical high scoring performances in all events while Katelyn Osborne put in arguably the toughest performance of her year.  Her school record in the 800m left her total drained, an example of her commitment to her training and a trait all our athletes should make note of.
 
Next up: At North Atlantic Conference Championships on Sunday (4/30/23), hosted by Thomas College at Colby College.
