Owls Sore Over Lynx in NAC Win

LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS – The Owls earn their first win of the year in a match vs the Lynx of Lesley University in a 2-1 victory. This victory brings the Owls to 1-5-1 in the North Atlantic Conference as the Lynx sit 1-5-1 in the NAC as well.
 
Nyden Reed started it off for UMPI, scoring his second goal of the season late in the 19th minute of the game. As the teams battled for possession, the Lynx' Marc Derac evened out the score in the 29th minute as the teams headed into the half tied. In the first half, the Lynx led the attack with 10 shots to the Owls four. Despite the Lynx continuing to lead in the shots category, 11-2 in the second half, the Owls took the lead in the 57th minute. Remar Shirley scored his eighth goal of the year, Isaac Doore with the assist.
 
Shirley led the Owls attack throughout the game with two shots, both on goal, to go along with his goal. The UMPI team finished with six total shots, four on goal, as they were able to counter the Lynx to take the win. Xavier McAtee was in goal for UMPI, finishing with ten saves on the game.
 
 
Next Up: The Owls will head back home to host VTSU-Lyndon in their final game of the year.
