Buzzards Bay, MA (10-1-11) -- The University of Maine-Presque Isle women's volleyball team picked up its 2nd win of the season on Saturday with a 3-0 win over  Massachusetts Maritime Academy (25-14, 25-22, 25-23).  In their other match of the afternoon, the Owls fell to Worcester Polytechnic Institute 3-0, (25-10, 25-7, 25-11).

Elizabeth Kofstad (Fr.Presque Isle, ME) notched six total kills on the day for the Owls, including three kills to go with five digs and three service aces in the opening win over the Buccaneers.  Samantha Roy (Fr./Van Buren, ME) added eight set assists and four kills in the triumph for Presque Isle, which also received three digs from Shaina Hood (So./Princeton, ME) in the setback to WPI.

The Owls are now 2-14 for the season.  

UMPI will next play on Saturday October 15th when they travel to UMaine-Farmington to face the host Beavers and the Bengals from UMaine-Fort Kent.  Match times are slated for 6pm and 8pm. respectively.
