The UMPI Men's Soccer team got back in the win column with their mid-week game on Wednesday against UMaine Augusta. The Owls routed the Moose, jumping on UMA early and often and never looking back.
How it Happened:
UMPI wasted no time, scoring right off the kick, when Ethan Cameron drilled a goal 30 seconds into the contest. UMA kept UMPI off the board again until the 7th minute when Max Kennedy scored two goals less than a minute apart, Micah Daigle picking up an assist on the latter. In the 10th minute, Jovain Barrett made it 4-0 thanks to an assist from Isaac Doore. Joel Cormier scored his second goal of the season to make it 5-0 in the 17th minute.
Things began to slow down from there in the scoring department for the next 10 minutes, but the Owls barrage of shots continued. Several saves by UMA's keeper Nate Corey kept UMPI out of the net, until a breakthrough at the end of the first half. Danny Argueta scored in the 28th minute to make it 6-0 on another Isaac Doore assist. Garrett Fletcher, scored in the 38th minute before Star Boma scored twice in a minute's span to make it 9-0 by halftime.
The Owls made sure everyone got involved in the second half, as they scored six more times, to finish with a total of 15, while preserving the shutout, despite a close call early in the second half where UMA possessed it inside UMPI's 18 for a moment, but their shot was saved by Logan Moser, forcing a corner.
Top Performers:
Max Kennedy once again had a hat trick for the Owls against the Moose, converting on all three of his shots. Garrett Fletcher also had a hat trick off the bench for UMPI—his first three career goals.

Isaac Doore had four of UMPI's seven assists on the day, while Jake Beaulieu, Micah Daigle and Ethan Cameron all had an assist each.
