Owls Lose to Eagles in NAC Play

PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE - The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls hosted the Husson University Eagles in a North Atlantic Conference game. The Owls would fall to the Eagles in a near second half comeback, eventually falling 74-58.
 
The Eagles came out ahead after the first quarter of the game, holding the Owls to just nine points in the first ten minutes, off their full court pressure. In the second half, the Eagles pressure on defense kept the Owls from getting any rhythm offensively as they held the Owls to another low scoring quarter, ten points to the Eagles 21. Coming out of the half, the Owls stepped up their game on both ends of the floor. After some back-and-forth play, the Owls would go on a quick 11-2 run in just four minutes. This brought the Owls within five points of the Eagles with just under three minutes to go in the third. The Eagles bounced back to end the third despite the Owls effort, they were able to put the game away in the fourth.
 
Bailey Donovan led the Eagles, finishing with 32 points and 26 rebounds on the night. The Owls were led by Emily Wheaton's 18 points, hitting 9-10 from the free throw line. Aleia Milano adding 15 points, shooing 5-12 from the field and hitting 2-3 from behind the arc. Alexis Ireland finished the game with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
 

The Owls will host the Hornets of Lyndon this Friday at 7:30 PM
