LEXINGTON, MA
The UMPI women's soccer team continued their tough schedule with their second trip to Massachusetts of the year to play Lesley University. The Owls were no match for the Lynx in this one as Lesley would cruise to a 6-0 victory. The Lynx wasted no time, threatening early and often and scored their first goal in the 12th minute. They tacked on one more in the 33rd minute to take a 2-0 halftime lead. The Lynx did some serious damage in the second half scoring in the 48th, 72nd, 84th, and 88th minutes. Lesley outshot UMPI 30-3 on the day, with an outstanding 21 shots on target.
For the Owls, scoring chances were scarce as they had three total shots. Madelynn Morrow had the only one on frame while Madison Miller and Alexis Ireland each had one shot of their own.
The Owls fall to 3-5-1 overall and 1-5-1 in league play.
UMPI will look to regroup and have a chance to do so right away with a conference game tomorrow afternoon at Fisher College. That game is to be played at MacDonald Stadium in Malden, Massachusetts. It will be a 2pm kickoff.
