FORT KENT, ME
The University of Maine at Presque Isle Men's Soccer Team travelled north for the one and only time of the year to face in-system school University of Maine at Fort Kent. The two teams have a long standing tradition of facing off against each other and Monday was the only scheduled matchup of the year. The Owls were stiffened by the powerful Bengal offense, surrendering six goals. This proved more than enough for the Bengals to capture the victory, with a score of 6-1.
The first half saw UMFK score four goals from the 16th to the 41st minutes. The Owls responded with a goal at the end of the first half from senior Nyden Reed. UMPI was not short on threatening on this night, as they put up nine shots, the most they've put up as a team in their last six games. Reed had two, as well as Jovain Barret with two shots, one on goal. Billy Wray and Ethan Cameron each had a shot on target as well.
UMPI falls to 2-10 overall. They have three games remaining on their schedule, all of which are conference matchups. They will travel to Castine, Maine this Saturday to face Maine Maritime Academy at 1pm.
