Owls Complete the Weekend Sweep vs the Falcons

BRIGHTON, MASSACHUSETTS – The Owls complete the weekend sweep against the Fisher College Falcons, although they were only able to play in one of the doubleheader games due to weather. The Owls took the single game in five innings, 10-1.

The Owls started off the scoring in the second inning coming off an error by the Falcons, scoring two runs. In the fourth, Rachel Billings and Gracelyn Walsh each were walked with the bases loaded to bring in two more runs. Followed by a two-run single from Zoe Stewart. The Falcons were able to bring in a run in the fourth. This was Hailey Saylor's only run allowed as she pitched the complete game for UMPI, allowing only six hits and striking out six batters in the five innings. To put the game away Billings was walked to bring in another run and Walsh his a three RBI double in the fifth to finish the game.

The Owls will head back to Presque Isle before heading back down to Massachusetts for another pair of doubleheaders, this time against Lesley University.
