Owls Fly Past the Moose at the Civic Center

AUGUSTA, MAINE – The UMPI women's basketball team advanced to 3-1 on the season with a win vs the University of Maine at Augusta. The Owls won, 66-59 in the Augusta Civic Center.
 
The game started off with some back and forth play as the Moose were up 16-15 to the Owls. In the second, the Owls picked up their defense, holding the Moose to just eight points in the ten minutes. Going into the half up 27-24, UMPI continued to hold that lead as UMA stayed close behind. In the fourth the Owls were able to extend their lead in the fourth to give them their seven point victory.
 
The Owls were led by Indya Smiths 23 points and 12 rebounds, also dishing out five assists and grabbing four steals. Alexis Ireland nearly recorded a double-double as she recorded 14 points and nine rebounds. Aleia Milano also recorded 14 points, while grabbing five rebounds.
