Owls Face off Against SUNY Poly in NAC Match

PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE – The Owls men's soccer team hosted SUNY Poly in a North Atlantic Conference cross divisional mach. The Wildcats took the win in the 2-1 game. The Owls now sit 0-9-1 on the year and 0-4 in the NAC.
 
The Wildcats started off with a quick goal in the 5th minute of the game to take an early lead. Following with another goal in the 11th minute of the game to give them an early 2-0 lead. The Owls were able to hold them off and not allow another goal, despite the Wildcats 15 shots in the first half. The second half was much more even playing as the Wildcats still had the edge with seven shots to the Owls three in the second half. Of the three shots by the Owls, Billy Wray was able to score his first career goal in the 64th minute to cut the lead in half.
Xavier McAtee spent the 90 minutes in goal for UMPI, finishing with seven saves on the day.
