UMPI Host UMFK in County Match

PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE – The UMPI men's soccer team hosted the University of Maine at Fort Kent in an Aroostook County rivalry. The Bengals of UMFK took the win 8-0 after 90 minutes. This brings the Owls to a 0-10-2 record on the year.
 
The Bengals started the game off strong with a goal in the 8th minute. Later on scoring back to back goals in the 33rd and the 34th minutes of the game before heading into the half. Early in the second half the Owls were able to pressure the Bengals with a few shots on goal, although the Bengals ere able to counter starting off their second half scoring in the 54th minute of the game. UMFK would go on to score four more goals before the game ended.
 
The Bengals finished the game with 28 shots, 19 of which were on goal; compared to the Owls six shots and one on goal. Xavier McAtee would spend the game in goal for the Owls finishing with 12 saves on the day.
 
Next Up: UMPI will head to Boston to play in another non-conference match vs Fisher College.
