Box Score Presque Isle, ME - The UMPI owls men's basketball team hosted their first North Atlantic Conference Divisional game of the year. The Owls' big second half gave them a 21-point win over the Terriers of Thomas College.
The Terriers drew first as they took the lead early, as the Owls struggled on both ends of the floor to start the game. UMPI fought their way back, gaining the lead with 10:32 to go in the first half. The team then battled back and forth before the Owls took the lead 27-26 with eight minutes left in the half and never looked back. Going into the half up only three the Owls, looked to be aggressive early. The Owls would go on a 12-0 run in a four minute stretch early in the half to put their lead to 14. UMPI continued to bring that lead up to end the game with a 20-point victory.
UMPI was led by the outstanding efficient play of
Dany Harris (Danbury, CT), scoring 26 points on 12-15 shooting to go along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Griffin Guerrette (Presque Isle, ME) finished with 20 points on 8-15 shooting and four steals.
Gilbert Jean Mendez (Clearwater, FL) finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and eight assists as he filled up the stats sheet.
KJ Minter (Elkton, MD) finished with yet another efficient night with 12 points on 5-7 shooting.
The Owls will host the Terriers for another NAC game on Sunday at 1:00PM.
