Box Score Bowdoinham, ME – The UMPI Owls traveled down state to play against the tough non-conference opponent Bowdoin College Polar Bears. The Owls lost 87-59.
UMPI found themselves down early with a nine-point deficit at the end of the first quarter. The Owls picked up their play in the second quarter only losing those ten minutes by one point, finding themselves down by ten at the half. It was in the third quarter that Bowdoin went away with it, as they score 31 points on 57% shooting and 55% from three in just the 10-minute span, while holding the Owls to 17 points.
Emily Wheaton (Presque Isle, ME) was the only UMPI scorer in double figures as she finished the game with 15 points on 5-12 shooting. Despite the Owls struggles they had all 12 Owls players score in the game.
The Owls will now host a home stretch of North Atlantic Conference games starting with Thomas College on Saturday and Sunday, time are at Owls.umpi.edu
