Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Owls Fall to SUNY Canton Roos

CANTON, NY – The UMPI Owls men's Soccer team traveled to Canton, New York to compete against North Atlantic Cross Divisional opponent SUNY Canton. The Roos would come away with the 4-0 victory, bringing them to a 3-1-1 NAC record while the Owls currently sit 2-4 in the NAC, 2-7-2 in the regular season.

The Roos maintained control of the ball throughout the first half as they finished the first 45 minutes with 16 shots to the Owls two. Starting early, the Roos scored in the 15th minute of the game, followed by a goal in the 37th minute to give them a two goal lead going into the half. The second half, the Owls were able to control the game more, although the Roos still were able to put two in the back of the net, one in the 60th and another in the 70th minute of the game.

The Owls finished with four shots on goal throughout the 90-minute game, one of which, by Matthew Bayonne was on goal. Xavier McAtee was in goal for the Owls, finishing the game with ten saves and allowing four goals. The Roos finished the game with 23 shots total, and 14 on goal.

The Owls will finish their cross divisional weekend with a game at Northern Vermont University – Johnson, before heading back up to Presque Isle.
