Owls Women's Soccer Falls to Falcons 1-0

BOSTON, MA – The UMPI Owls women's Soccer team competed in a non-conference match vs Fisher College down in Boston, MA. The Owls would fall to the Falcons 1-0, with a late game goal from the Falcons in the 86th minute of the game. This game brings the Owls to a 3-3-3 regular season record and the Falcons 5-5-1.

The Owls had the edge early in the game as they had seven shots to the Falcons three in the first half, three of those shots being on goal for UMPI and two for the Falcons. The second half the teams played more even with ten shots to the Falcons eight shots. Of those eight shots, five of which were on goal, eventually getting one to go in the 86th minute off a penalty kick.

Alexis Ireland led the attack for UMPI with nine shots, two on goal while Alexis Rodriguez and Hope Shea each finished with two shots on goal each as well. Savannah Rodriguez would play the 90-minutes in goal for the Owls and finish the game with six saves.

The Owls will head back up north for the week before heading to upstate New York to compete in NAC Cross Divisional opponents SUNY Canton and Northern Vermont University-Johnson.
