Box Score Waterville, ME – The Owls of Me-Presque Isle got their 2nd win of the season in an 87 to 77 victory over the University of Maine at Augusta on Saturday afternoon. UMPI (2-0), playing in the Charlie Ryan Tipoff Tournament at Thomas College this weekend, got another strong performance from DeAndre Duncombe (So. Port St. Lucie, FL) who led the Owls with 23 points and hauled down 10 rebounds.
Me-Presque scored 47 points in the first half on their way to a ten point lead at the intermission, a margin they would sustain throughout the ballgame.
Guard Griffin Guerrette (Fr. Presque Isle, ME) came off the bench with another outstanding game knocking down 8 field goals including five 3 pointers and added 3 assists and 3 rebounds.6'1" guard Te'Von Hines (Jr. Woodbridge, VA) scored 16 points for the Owls while grabbing 7 rebounds. Quinn Mitchell (Sr. Meriden, CT) and Wilburn Griffiths (Jr. Queens, NY) each scored 8 points and pulled down 6 rebounds.
The UMA moose were led by Dustin Simpson-Bragg with 23 points and Noach Thompson added 16.
