PRESQUE ISLE, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Men's Soccer team (3-6-1) shut out a team for the third consecutive matchup, defeating the Unity Rams (2-5-1) 2-0 in the 2016 Homecoming matchup.

Derek Healy (SR, Hanover, MA) would connect on a goal in seventh minute to put the Owls up early.  In the 42^nd minute, Cody Blair (SO, Ashland, ME) would find Healy on a breakaway, setting him up for the second goal of the game.  UMPI would take that 2-0 lead into the half.

Unity would tally eight shots on goal for the game, but would not be able to connect on any of their opportunities.  The Owls would control the pace for the most part, outshooting the Rams 23-13 on the game.  AJ Dolley (SR, Whiting, ME) would record six saves and be credited with the shut out save in the net for the Owls.

Prior to the game Head Coach Alan Gordon was honored for his commitment to the Owls program.  An alumni group of players arranged for a special plaque to be presented to him, in honor of his 25 years of coaching the Owls Soccer Program.

UMPI will host Maine-Machias on Tuesday.  The match will be played at the Presque Isle Middle School, and the game is scheduled for a 5 PM start.
