Maine-Presque Isle def. Pine Minor 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-20, 25-13)

The Gators jumped out early on the visitors, taking an 8-2 lead in the first set.  The Owls would fight back, taking advantage of some Pine Manor errors and some key kills by Morgan Swan (SR, Caribou, ME).  UMPI would take its first lead of the night by a score of 19-18 and from that point they would not trail in the first set, winning it 25-22.  The Gators would come back in the second set, and played sharp, committing just two attack errors on the way to ten team kills.  Pine Minor would never trail in the second set, winning it by a score of 25-18.  In the third set, the Owls would jump out to a sizeable lead.  A kill by Abby Jewett (JR, Bass Harbor, ME) and two service aces from Hannah Boyce (SR, Bar Harbor, ME) would help the road team jump out to 5-0 lead.  The Owls kept the pressure on, and extended their lead to 20-10 before the Gators were able to climb back in.  It would not prove to be enough in the end, the Owls would hang on and take the third set 25-20.  With Maine – Presque Isle up two sets to one, the home team played its worst set of the night, which included ten attack errors, two service errors, and converting on just five kills.  Conversely the Owls limited themselves to just five attack errors, while collecting ten kills and three service aces.

Swan would lead the Owls with 11 kills and 25 digs, while Jewett collected ten kills and 26 kills.  Boyce would collect four service aces and 11 kills, while Katie Patenaude (SR, Presque Isle, ME) added ten digs.  Mary Owen (SO, Houston, TX) would register twelve kills alongside of  Natasia Franklin (SR, Windsor, CT) who would have ten kills for the Gators.

Pine Minor def. Maine-Presque Isle, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-19)

The Gators would find themselves in a fight in the first set of the second match, as the Owls held a 20-19 lead late.  Pine Minor would rattle off 6 of the last seven points to rally back and take the first set, 25-21.  The Owls would take a short-lived lead in the second match, then find themselves trying to catch the home team throughout.  At one point UMPI fought back from a six point deficit to an 18-17 score, but the Gators would hold off the comeback attempt, winning the second set 25-18.  The third set looked to be a runaway, with Pine Manor stretching out to a 19-7 lead.  Finding themselves down 24-12, the Owls showed some resiliency, scoring seven points in a row, but Pine Manor would sweep the Owls in the second match, 3-0.

Swan and Jewett would lead the Owls in kills with six.  Jewett would record 11 digs, while Swan managed ten in the losing effort.  The Gators were paced by Franklin's eight kills.  Jenna Hall (FR, Glenn Hills, NY) chipped in with ten digs.
