Box Score Central Maine came out on fire, shooting 55% in the first half to defeat the Owls Saturday afternoon.
Both squads would shoot 50% in the second stanza and played to a 40-40 tie in the second 20 minutes of play, so the strong first half fueled by the inside play of Junior Laura Soohey carried the Mustangs to the road victory.
Gabby Foy scored 19 to lead CMCC and Soohey scored 12 of her 18 in the first period to cement the win. 6'1 Soohey also grabbed a game-high 12 boards.
Darby Toth had 17 for the Owls and Senior Krista Coffin had a career high 12 points for the Owls. Sydney Churchill and Rebecca Campbell each had 7 rebounds and Toth added 5 assists.
The Owls will next play Fisher College at noon on Sunday. The match will be the last home game for the Owls this season and the team will honor it's three outstanding seniors Campbell, Coffin and Brigitte Pratt.
