Monks Quiet the Owls

Box Score

The Owls ran into a volleyball buzzsaw Monday as they visited the Saint Joseph (ME) Monks.  The 16-6 Monks, the 2nd place team in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, used a tremendous performance from middle blocker Felicia Wachowiak to cruise to a 3-0 win (25-13, 25-5. 25-9).

Wachowiak had 13 kills and had a .812 attack percentage to lead the Monks to Victory.  Overall, the Saint Joseph attack registered 34 kills, with just 7 errors in 63 chances as a team.  The attack percentage posted by Wachowiak ranks as the highest mark recorded by a Saint Joseph's player in team history.

For the Blue & Gold sophomore Shannon Brown recorded 3 kills and 2 aces, Randi Kaplan added 3 assists and Shaina Hood tallied 8 digs.

The Owls return to play Saturday, October 19th when they host UMaine rival Fort Kent.  Action starts at noon.
