The University of Maine-Presque Isle Women's Volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday during a tri-match at the University of Maine-Machias.  The Owls fall to 2-19 on the season.  UMPI will close out the 2011 season next weekend in Canton, NY where they will play SUNY-Canton and UMaine-Fort Kent on both Friday and Saturday, October 29th and 30th.

UMaine-Machias 3, UMPI 1

The host Clippers began the day with a four-set victory over the Owls, 25-19, 18-25, 25-14, 25-22.  Leaders for UMPI in the match included Karen Creighton (Sr./Sussex, NB) with 8 kills and Randi Kaplan (Fr./Embden, ME) with 10 digs.

UMaine-Fort Kent 3, UMPI 0

In the middle match of the tri-match event, it was the Tigers shutting out UMPI, 25-11, 25-11, 25-18.  Creighton led the team again, this time with digs.  She had 11.
