McNeill is originally from Morehead City, North Carolina where she attended West Carteret High School, graduating in 2019. From there, she attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, competing for two seasons as a member of the women’s basketball team while pursuing her undergraduate degree.
While at Methodist, McNeill was an active Athletic Training intern, working primarily with the football and baseball teams. She graduated with her degree in Kinesiology in 2022.
In grad school, McNeill went to West Virginia University and gained experience with some high level Division I programs such as the Mountaineer’s Volleyball and Track & Field programs.
Her graduate clinical experiences also took her beyond Morgantown. McNeill spent a summer working with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps Marching Band and later completed rotations in New York with Wells College and SUNY Morrisville. She graduated from West Virginia University in May 2024 after successfully passing the Board of Certification examination for athletic trainers.
She began her professional career in July of 2024 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Averett University in Virginia. During her two years there, she was responsible for coverage of women’s soccer, women’s basketball, golf, and baseball. In March of this year, McNeill added professional baseball experience to her resume when she became the head athletic trainer for the Danville Otterbots, an MLB-affiliated summer collegiate baseball team.
McNeill now brings that range of experience to Presque Isle where she will join Head Athletic Trainer Brian Morrison to round out the Owls’ sports medicine staff.
