Lyndonville, VT – The UMPI women's Cross Country team met at Northern Vermont Lyndon for the North Atlantic Conference Championship 5K race. The Owls finished in fifth place, led by Kendra Silvers (Jr. North Berwick, ME). SUNY Delhi came away with the win while Husson finished second and UMF third.
Silvers finished in 21st place with a time of 26:31, leading UMPI with 8:33 mile splits. Jayde Whitten (Fy. St. Albans, ME) was close behind with a time of 27:20 and a 24th place finish. Annaset Jackson (Fy. Wilton, ME) was the third Owl runner to finish with a time of 29:17, while Kaily Rich (Fy. Lebanon, ME) finished right behind her with a 38th place finish, just two seconds behind her teammate. Rebecca Griffin (Jr. Hodgdon, ME) was the final UMPI racer to cross the finish line with a time of 32:05.
The team finished with an average time of 28:55 for all five of the runners. The team will head to the NCAA Regionals in Brunswick, Maine on Saturday the 16th.
