Bangor, ME – The UMPI Owls women's volleyball team beats North Atlantic Conference opponent Husson University, earning their first East NAC win of the year bringing them to 1-0 in the conference. The Owls won in four sets, winning the first 25-19, winning the second 27-25, the Eagles took the third 25-21, and the Owls put the match to an end in the fourth with a 25-23 win.

The Owls took control in the first set, with six kills on 23 attack attempts with only one error. Compared to the four kills, seven errors on 16 attack attempts for Husson. The second set ended with a much closer final, 27-25 as this time the Eagles had 13 kills to the Owls eight, despite UMPI taking the win. Husson took the third set with nine kills on 30 attempts while UMPI had eight kills on 35 attempts. UMPI finished the fourth match with four kills compared to the Eagles six.
First Year Rachel Walker (Pelham, AL) led the Owls with an outstanding defensive showing, recording 22 digs to go along with a team high seven kills, recording ten of the teams 42 points on the match. Alondra Lopez (Los Angeles, CA) finished the match with six kills on 23 attack attempts. Libero Kylee Blazick (Ashley, PA) recorded 17 digs on the game.
