Owls Soar Past the Rams

Presque Isle, ME – The Owls women's soccer team, with a statement 6-0 win vs Unity College. With 22 shots on goal in the game, the Owls pressure was too much for the Rams defense.

Marissa Valdivia Reagle (Jr. Seattle, WA) led the way for the Owls once again with a goal in the 11th minute, giving the Owls an early start. Hannah Nadeau (So. Madawaska, ME) scored the second goal for the Owls, assisted by Alexis Rodriguez (Fy. Caribou, ME). Rodriguez added a goal for herself just about five minutes later, 30th minute, to give the Owls a 3-0 lead in the first half.

UMPI was not done! Courtney Richard (Fy. Farmington, ME) scored her first goal of the year in the 47th minute.  Kassandra Nelson (Fy. Portage Lake, ME) joined in with her first goal of the year as well, another one assisted by Rodriguez. Reagle scored another goal in the 78th minute to put an exclamation on the win, her 7th goal of the year.

The Owls defense was led by Monica McLaughlin (Fy. Caribou, ME) and others, only allowing two shots on goal throughout the game.

The Owls next match is another home one vs conference opponent Northern Vermont-Lyndon, on Homecoming weekend, Saturday 28th at 2:30pm.
