Owls' Offense Sputters

QUINCY, MA – The Eastern Nazarene College Lions (14-6) would cruise to a 56-27 victory over the University of Maine at Presque Isle (4-14) in women's basketball action on Thursday night.

The Lions opened the game with a 13-2 run and never looked back, as the Owls offense would struggle all evening long.  UMPI would muster just ten points in the first half, and find themselves down by 14 going into intermission.

Defensively the Owls were able to hold their own on the road, as Eastern Nazarene would shoot just 28.4% from the field, but a number of key factors contributed to the Lions running away with the game in the second half.  ENC would grab 26 offensive rebounds in the game, allowing them to score 15 second chance points.  The Owls would also limit themselves offensively by turning the ball over 30 times.  The UMPI offense would sputter throughout, and the Lions would take a 29-point win at home.

Kylee Alton (SR, Burnham, ME) would lead the Owls scoring with eight points off the bench.  Amanda Hotham (SR, Fort Fairfield, ME) collected 11 rebounds in the contest.  ENC was led by Breanna Fraser (SR, Henderson, NV), who scored 12 points.

The Owls continue a three-day road trip with a visit to Pratt Institute (5-7) on Friday night.  That game is scheduled for a 6 PM start.
