Presque Isle, Maine – UMPI Head Softball Coach Alissa Edwards is very pleased to announce that Dalaney Anfinson will be attending The University of Maine at Presque Isle in the Fall of 2020 and has committed to play softball for the Owls. Anfinson is currently a senior at Clay High School in Green Cove Springs, Florida and plans on entering the Environmental Science Program at UMPI.
Dalaney is an outfielder for her High School and Travel Teams in Florida.
Coach Edwards was very complimentary when speaking about Anfinson. "Delaney will add even more speed to our outfield next year. Her speed will also be an asset to our small ball game as she adds another linear hitter to our line-up. Laney is an excellent student-athlete with a great head on her shoulders. I am very excited to have her join our Team next season and to watch her grow as both a person and a player over the next four years at UMPI," stated the UMPI Coach.
"I am excited that I will be attending UMPI and becoming part of their Environmental Science Program and Softball team. Everyone I've met has been so friendly and helpful !" said Anfinson who played under High Scool Coach Matt Lewis. Laney's favorite quote is from her Florida Travel Team Coach John Houlton, "Once you have your foot on the throttle don't let up."
The Owls Softball Family and The University of Maine at Presque Isle look forward to welcoming Dalaney to Campus in late August.
