Softball Postseason Awards Announced

PRESQUE ISLE, ME – The USCAA and AD3I released their postseason awards for softball this week.  Nine University of Maine at Presque Isle Softball players received honors.

The USCAA honors student-athletes for their work in the classroom.  The All-Academic Team honors are awarded to students of sophomore standing or higher with at least a 3.5 GPA.  The USCAA also honored more than 45 All-Americans at its annual USCAA National Championship Banquet this year.  The Association of Division III Independents consists of nine NCAA Division III independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions.

Dinah Bilodeau (SO, Knox, ME) was named to the USCAA All-Academic Team.

 

 

Jessica Campbell (SR, Lisbon, ME) was named to the USCAA All-Academic Team.

 

Sara Packard (SO, St. Albans, ME) was named USCAA First Team All-American, All-Independent First Team Pitcher, and USCAA National All-Academic Team.  Packard ended her season with a 2.97 ERA and a 19-14 record.  She struck out 181 batters in 214.2 innings of work.

 

 

Katie Patenaude (SR, Presque Isle, ME) was also named USCAA First Team All-American, All-Independent First Team First Baseman, and USCAA All-Academic Team.  Patenaude finished the season third on the team in batting average at .355 and second in slugging percentage at .492.  She led the team in doubles with 11and RBI with 29, and had two homeruns and struck out just eight times in 124 at bats.

 

Hannah Williams (FR, Park Falls, NS) was named USCAA Honorable Mention All-American and All-Independent Second Team Second Baseman.  Williams led the team with a .380 batting average, in runs scored with 38, and in hits with 49.  She would also collect six doubles, 20 RBI, nine stolen bases and struck out just eight times in 129 at bats.

 

Dalynn Jacobs (FR, Riverside, RI) was named as All-Independent First Team Third Baseman.  Jacobs finished the season with a .302 batting average and a .427 on base percentage.  She also had five doubles, 20 RBI, and eight stolen bases this season.

 

Nicole Marucci (SO, Naples, ME) was named All-Independent First Team Outfielder and USCAA All-Academic Team.  Marucci finished the season tied for second in the team with a .356 batting average and had a .426 on base percentage.  She also collected four doubles, one triple, and seven stolen bases while scoring 21 runs this season.

 

Amanda Allen (SR, Limestone, ME) was named All-Independent Second Team Outfielder.  Amanda finished the season with a .240 batting average and .376 on base percentage.  She was second on the team with 21 RBI, walked 18 times, and stole five bases.

 

Jordi Legassie (FR, Presque Isle, ME) was named All-Independent Second Team Outfielder.  Legassie finished the season with a .208 batting average and a .302 on base percentage.  She would hit a double, triple, and a homerun on the season and lead the team in stolen bases with 12.

 

Head Coach Sara Shaw (2nd Season) was named AD3I Co-Coach of the Year.  Coach Shaw led the Owls to an Association best 25-15 record.
