Owls Round Out Season with 6-0 Victory

Presque Isle, ME – The UMPI Owls men's soccer team hosted their final game of the season. Hosting North Atlantic Conference opponent Northern Vermont University at Lyndon. The Owls would go on to win the game in their largest margin of victory all year, 6-0.

The Owls not only celebrated a victory they celebrated senior day for three of their seniors. William Bridges (Presque Isle, ME), Stephen Cochrane (Deer Isle, ME) and Dominic Green (Bath, ME).

The Owls maintained control throughout the game, as they were able to shoot 27 total shots, 18 shots on goal. Compared to the Hornets 11 shots and seven on goal. Diego Vega (Chicago, IL) led the Owls offense as he scored or assisted on every goal except for one. It was Gavin Vining who started off the scoring for the Owls in just the third minute of the game. Cochrane was able to score the second goal for the Owls on his final game as an Owl, assisted by Vega.

From there on it was Vega who continued to put the ball in the back of the net. All goals being scored in the first half, Vega went on to score in the 16th minute, 33rd minute, 38th minute and 42nd minute. Nyden Reed (Roque Bluffs, ME), Cochrane and Caden Spooner (Andover, KS) recorded assists on three of those goals, the first being unassisted. Keith Mank (Raymond, ME) earned the win in the goal, and earning his ninety-ninth save on the season before suffering from an injury.  

The Owls round out their season with a 6-0 victory vs NAC opponent.
