Johnson, VT – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls men's soccer team took on North Atlantic Conference opponent Northern Vermont University-Johnson. The Badgers beat UMPI 5-0 in the match up. This brings the Owls to 1-3 in the NAC and 5-4 on the season.
Johnson took the lead early in the match, with a goal in the 5th minute. The Badgers didn't look back as they continued to put pressure on the Owls defense. The Badgers would score four more goal in the first half, giving them a 5-0 lead through 45 minutes.
Both teams went back and forth in the second half, UMPI with two shots, one on goal. The Badgers had seven shots and four on goal in the second half, while neither teams were able to add one to the score board.
Keith Mank (Fy. Raymond, ME) spend the 90-minute game in goal for the Owls, finishing with six saves.
The Owls head to Unity College tomorrow to finish their weekend road trip.
