Mark Knight begins his third year working with the University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls Athletics department. Throughout his three years he has taken on many roles in the department, beginning with the assistant basketball coach and now taking on his new position as the Sports Information Director. While in his new position Knight will be the advisor for the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), Assistant Men's Basketball Coach (4th year), and Adjunct Professor.
In the years leading up to his time with UMPI, Knight attended Webber International University for six years. Receiving his Undergraduate Degree, majoring in Sport Business Management with a minor in Computer Applications in Business, and his Masters in Business Administration with a Concentration in Sport Business Management.
While completing his Undergrad with Webber, Knight was a member of the Men’s Basketball team for all four years. Later becoming a Graduate Assistant Coach during grad school, where he was the head coach for the Men’s Junior Varsity team, and assistant to the varsity program. Where his duties primarily were directed toward Player Development, Basketball Operations, and Game Day Management.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Knight was raised in Saint Petersburg, Florida, by his mother and father, Nancy and Jim Knight. Along with his brother Thomas and sister Sara.
