The UMPI Men's Basketball team (4-4) used a 20-1 run at the start of the second half to cement a 77-67 victory against UMaine rival Fort Kent (3-5) Wednesday evening.

After an exciting half of basketball that saw the Owls holding a one point advantage 33-32 going into the locker room, UMPI scored the first 13 points of the second half, including baskets by each of the starters.  That balance held throughout the entire game, as all five starters registered double-figures for Head Coach Jim Casciano's squad.

Michael Warner continued his outstanding play with a game high 22 points and added 7 rebounds, Freshman Thiago Conceicao had 17 points and 11 boards and Chase Vicaire banged home three triples and added 15 points to the effort.

Fred Sanchez lead UM-Fort Kent with 19 and James Givens added 15 points, 5 boards and 5 assists to the ledger for Fort Kent.

UMPI will next head to Orono to play NCAA Division I University of Maine in a 2pm tilt on Sunday December 15.  That match will take the Owls into the finals break period.  Action will again pick up for the Owls on January 2, as the team will travel to Boston to play Eastern Nazarene in a men's/women's doubleheader starting at noon with the UMPI women's team starting the days play.
