PRESQUE ISLE, ME 12/8/11 -- The University of Maine-Presque Isle men's basketball team shot 5-34 from three-point range in dropping a 67-52 decision to the University of Maine-Augusta in Bangor on Thursday night.

Despite hitting only 1-of-15 of their 3-point attempts in the first half, the Owls managed to hit the halftime locker room with a 26-25 advantage. That was thanks in part to some solid UMPI defense that held the Moose to an equally paltry 2-11 on three pointers.

The second half was a different story however as while the Owls remained cold from the floor, the Moose heated up. UMA shot 62% in the second half on 13-21 shooting, including 11-12 from the free throw line outscoring UMPI 42-26 in the final 20 minutes.

The Moose (6-12) were led by a pair of big scoring performances, David Prior with 24 (on 10-12 shooting) and Leonel Familia who poured in 22. The Owls (2-5) were led on the night by Patrick Manifold (Jr./Great Yarmouth, UK) and Kyle Corrigan (Jr./Caribou, ME) who scored 14 and 10 respectively.

The Owls return home this weekend to face UMaine-Fort Kent on Saturday December 10th. Tip time is set for 3:00pm.
