Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle welcomes, 2021-2022 Baseball commit, Tanner Veilleux to the Owls program. Tanner is from Searsmont, Maine and attended Belfast Area High School for four years, while playing on the baseball team as a 4-year starter.
In his time on the baseball team at Belfast, Tanner played catcher for the team while batting with a .336 average and adding 10 stolen bases. Coach Chris Lavalle, head coach at Belfast, praises Tanner both on and off the field. "He is an extremely hard-working kid with a tremendous work ethic and an unsurpassed desire to get better." Said coach Lavalle, "He is a coach's dream in that he is always team-first and willing to do whatever is asked of him. He is an excellent leader, both on and off the field and he leads through example."
Veilleux plans to major in Physical Therapist Assistant while attending UMPI. "I look forward to furthering my education in the PTA Program while playing baseball. Playing college baseball has always been a dream of mine, I am excited to learn and grow as a student athlete." Said Tanner.
Coach Roger Stinson and the whole Owls family are excited to have Tanner join the UMPI family.
